For Cathy’s 2xth birthday, I booked us a three-day, two-night stay at the Hotel Fleuris in Puerto Princesa, the capital of the Philippines’ most breathtaking ecological paradise, Palawan. The Hotel Fleuris, a clean, classy hotel in Palawan with terrific customer service and a host of facilities, is one of the most renowned hotels in Palawan, and we’ve never been more excited. Cathy and I have always wanted to go to Palawan (why travel abroad when the Philippines has 7,107 beautiful islands we can visit?), and this is the first trip we’re taking with just the two of us outside of Manila.
This is the Explore Puerto Princesa Package that the Fleuris Hotel in Palawan offer for P6,800net per person, two persons minimum (so it works for Cathy and me). Coordinating with this comfortable Palawan hotel has proven pleasant – specifically Assistant Sales Manager Ms. Vivian Msungi, who coordinated with us via email – and despite the lack of instant confirmation online that we had with other hotels in the Philippines (the oh-so-plush Diamond Hotel in Manila and our favorite Manila hotel, Discovery Suites in Ortigas), it was otherwise a pleasant experience booking at the Fleuris Hotel in Palawan.
Day 1
10:15am ETA via Cebu Pacific (Free airport transfers)
10:30am Welcome to Hotel Fleuris Palawan – Check-in (Free welcome drinks)
12:00nn Lunch at the Coffee Shop
01:30pm Afternoon City Tour (The sites include Crocodile Farm, Butterfly Garden, Mitra’s Ranch, Baker’s Hill, Plaza Cuartel, Cathedral, and a running tour of the Souvenir Shop and Market in Puerto Princesa.)
05:00pm Back to Hotel Fleuris
07:00pm Dinner (I’m thinking Vietville, but we’re not sure how far off that is.)
Day 2
06:30am Breakfast at the Hotel Fleuris Coffee Shop
07:30am Pickup time for Underground River Tour (including a swimming stopover at gorgeous Sabang Beach!)
05:00pm Back to Hotel Fleuris
07:00pm Packaged Dinner at the We Be Sushi Bar and Restaurant or at the Piano Lounge (I will probably choose the Piano Lounge.)
Day 3
06-930am Breakfast at the Coffee Shop and shopping for souvenirs at the local market
09:30am Check Out of Hotel Fleuris
09:45am Shuttle to the Airport
It’s a tight schedule, but I’m sure we can make it!
Yahoo! Here’s to our Hotel Fleuris stay and our exciting vacation in Palawan! [Maybe when we come back, Nathan may have a baby sister! Haha!]
Oh, visit our other post on a Palawan resort that I’d love to visit: the Flower Island Resort in Palawan!

G,
Viet Ville is about a 30-40 minute ride by tricycle from the airport. I just don’t know if the quality of the food is still as good as when I went there 2 years ago. A lot of the vietnamese refugees who lived there have moved to the states na. But, it could still be worth a shot. Have fun you two!

Hi Cla! The plane fare we booked is on Cebu Pacific using their P10 promo last April. The prices indicated on my blog post are just for the Hotel Fleuris package. Our plane fare costs us around P3100, I think, not more than P3500, definitely, for two tickets, round trip, all in. So put altogether, I think I spent less than P16K for everything.

Thanks Ganns!
I also love to travel so I always look for promos and cheap fares.
Suggestion only : Check out PALakbayan’s holiday packages at PAL’s website. They are offering Supersaver @ 65 tours which are very affordable.

I’m glad PAL has decided to do that. Cebu Pacific has done a good job of using word-of-mouth to promote their bargain-basement prices to Net-savvy yuppies like me, so now that PAL’s doing PALakbayan, well, that’s even better news for local travelers.

Hi Cla! I visited your website! Ang galing! You’re married to Jomar Hilario?! Small world! I know him from his FISH concerts!
I’ve checked out the PAL packages. Not bad at all, although there weren’t very clear explanations of how it works. If I interpreted it right, the total cost of a Hotel Fleuris 3-day, 2-night stay on PALakbayan follows (as of March 2006):
Accommodations | P7,055 * 2 = P14,110
(inclusive of daily breakfast, 2 nights hotel accommodation, airport transfers, and airfare on Philippine Airlines)
Underground River Tour | P1,265 * 2 = P2,530
(inclusive of transfers, entrance fees, and travel guide)
Total: P16,640
On our self-arranged setup:
Accommodations | P6,800 * 2 = 13,600
(inclusive of Underground River tour [transfers, entrance fees, and travel guide], City Tour [to different areas in Puerto Princesa], airport transfers, welcome drinks, daily breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner)
Airfare | P1750 * 2 = P3,300
(Cebu Pacific’s P10 anniversary airfare)
Total: P16,900
For the extra P260 I paid, we got an extra afternoon city tour, welcome drinks, plus one lunch and one dinner at the Hotel Fleuris. I think we got lucky this time around because of Cebu Pacific’s promo. I’ll definitely take a look at what PAL has to offer for our next trip! Thanks for the tip!
