My favorite radio station, Jam 88.3, has two new shows that you have got to listen to!

The first show is titled Nightlife: The Rick and Patti Show! Hosted by DJs Rick Rude and Patti, it’s a regular morning show… but at night! The show airs 9PM – 12MN, and it’s a talk show that listeners can call in to share their opinions on the topics of the evening. Phone line is 6318803. All you call center people and the rest of us who listen to the radio at night, this is pretty much for us!

I don’t have complete information on the second show yet, but I’ve heard INCREDIBLE things about it. It’ll air on Sundays, no time slot yet, and it’ll air positive, uplifting songs (including some praise songs, or so I’ve heard). More info to come, so please stand by. And tune in to Nightlife!

Have you ever had a ‘Things to Do Before I Die’ list? The kind that includes some crazy items, some dumb items, and some time-tested items that, years down the line, you can’t believe you included in the list?

I have one of those, and so does Cathy, my wife. Both of us have never been the types to deny ourselves the opportunity to do something we wanted to do, whether together or individually. I, in particular, live with a certain philosophy that I don’t want to be 70 and live with the what-if’s and ‘what-could’ve-beens.’ Regret is an ugly thing (and so am I in anything yellow).

This philosophy governed a lot of my life decisions. I was not necessarily impulsive, but when I really wanted something, more often than not, I found myself unable to concentrate or function optimally until I got it.

Now one thing I’ve always wanted was to have some kind of stud on my body. Read the rest of this entry »

gannsyes.gifWanna kick your weight loss program into high gear, like I do?

Gold’s Gym and Ringside Boxing Club is sponsoring the Family Summer Knockout, a fun fitness program developed by trainers from both Gold’s and Ringside consisting of weights, cycling, spinning, running, boxing, and recreational games. The unbelievable value: P6,000 a pair. That’s P3,000 a person. P1,500 a month. CRAZY.

All I need to do is find a boxing buddy and I’m good to go! The package includes a fitness check-up and analysis, develop a training regimen in three parts (strengthening; endurance and resistance; skills and coordination); monthly fitness and weight-loss check-ups, and a boxing workshop with my workout partner. Plus a fitness program developed by the Gold’s and Ringside trainers.

The best part: after the program is over, I can end it there. No membership fees. All I have to do is sign up for one of two preset date ranges: March 1 – April 30, 2007 (or) April 1 – May 31, 2007). Venue is Gold’s Gym Alabang.

You can contact Jose Veguillas at (0917) 844-4611 or e-mail him for further information.

I am seriously contemplating this, and computing right now to see if I can afford it. Do I really want to put a price on my health, after all? It’d be awesome to be in shape for Cathy once she gives birth. Who wants to be my boxing buddy? 😀

Update: Can’t do it. Gold’s Gym Alabang lang daw ang venue. Hay.

Looking for Jennifer Hudson’s Academy Award acceptance speech? Here it is, based on what I’ve been able to piece together. Congratulations, Jennifer!

“Oh my God, I have to just take this moment in. I cannot believe this. Look what God can do. I didn’t think I was going to win. If my grandmother was here to see me now. She was my biggest inspiration for everything because she was a singer and she had the passion for it but she never had a chance. And that was the thing that pushed me forward to continue.”

“But I’m so grateful to have my mother here celebrating with me. My boyfriend, my sisters and my brothers back home and I’ve got two of them here. Thank you all for being here and supporting me. I would so like to thank Bill Condon, our director. Oh my God, unbelievable cast. I’d like to thank the Academy, definitely have to thank God I guess again. I can’t believe this. Wow, I don’t know what to say, but I thank you all for helping me keep the faith. Even when I didn’t believe and God bless you all. Jennifer Holliday, too!”

Despite a dress that critics slammed, Jennifer Hudson has won the Oscar! Ladies and gentlemen, Jennifer Hudson has won the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar for her role as Effie White in Dreamgirls!

Hudson was slammed for her metallic python bolero over a floor-length chocolate gown by Oscar de la Renta, picked out by Vogue‘s Andre Leon Talley. Fashion critic and E! commentator Jay Manuel dissed the jacket/gown combination, saying “I love you, but there’s too much going on here.” Personally, I’m not a fan of the bolero either, but she looks good in the chocolate gown.

In becoming the first Afro-American actress to win an Oscar since Halle Berry won a Best Actress Oscar for Monster’s Ball, Hudson defeated Cate Blanchett (Notes on a Scandal), 10-year-old Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), and Babel‘s Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi.

Hudson’s new album is dropping fall 2007. Congratulations, JHud! This is your moment, girl! LIVE IT! See, we don’t care what y’all say. Cathy and I are happy JHud won this Oscar, and I’ll take it as my nice little birthday surprise.

Note: JHud, you said on Tyra the other day that you Google yourself. Girl, if you find your way here, please leave me a note or an email, please, please, please. My wife and I have supported you and loved you since Idol. Throw two Asian fans some sugar. ;D Make it a birthday gift for me. 😀
